weird emails being received

I'm getting emails from the site telling me when people respond to a thread.  Any way to turn that off?  I looked in my account settings but no deal.

Profile > modify profile > notifications > deselect "turn on notifications when you post or reply to a topic"


I think that's what did it for me.
